Okay, so it took far longer than a month. It's still not done yet, but believe it or not, what I bring you today is actually only 72% of the completed work. 167 pages, comprising the conclusion to the original Mazinger Z manga. Great Mazinger technically starts on page 168. :O Anyway, while I slave away being you the last 28% or so, enjoy the first 167 pages, marvel at Mazinger's conclusion, and hopefully I can have the rest done before Christmas. XD

Welcome to the Photo-Atomic Translation Institute!
Hey, there, everyone! Welcome to the lab! This here is the start of a new translation... Uh... Entity? Yeah, I can't really call myself a group since I'm the only one, not that I don't get help from others, I do. But currently I'm the only member here. ^^; In anycase, I'm founding this new entity as the distribution source for what I've been killing myself producing over the course of the past year and a half: Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger! First though, a bit of context and intro, I think is necessary:
Well, at the start of last year, I came into the possession of scans from Go Nagai's Mazinger Z. The WHOLE series. Both Nagai's originals and a second series run by Toei based closely on the TV versions. Go Nagai is one of Japan's greatest and most prolific mangakas and he's practically unknown here in America because few companies have ever sought to import his works. Sure you have some movies here and some OAVs there but for the most part, his manga and anime is non-existant on this side of the Pacific and relatively unknown to today's generation of otaku and that's sad. And Mazinger Z being the foundation of ALL modern Robot anime and manga (all of which is also completely unpopular in America) it's a crucial part of Japan's culture. At the time, I wasn't aware and didn't think anyone would do ANYTHING with these scans since the series is so old and DOESN'T run in today's Shonen Jump so I translating it. OneManga published my first completed portion on April 19th, 2009. I was happy and so were fans. Everything went great until I was almost done with Volume 1, I came to find out someone else was working on Mazinger Z. An actual GROUP. I was shocked. I was also troubled that someone on OneManga replaced my version with their's. Their's being Dynamic Pro. Eventually, OneManga did repost my completed Volume 1 and I agreed to let Dynamic Pro continue with the series whilst I worked on Great Mazinger - Volume 1.
Now, as many of you are already aware of, OneManga went down recently, taking with it, my Mazinger Z - Volume 1. Well, with our maiden Blog post, we REPOST Volume 1! So, that I didn't kill myself for the better part of a YEAR for NOTHING. :p As for Great Mazinger, it's still coming. Hopefully sometime next month. Progress was slow for a while but things seem to be speeding up now. So, please sit tight.
Also, please don't mind the scant layout of the place, this is my first blog and I don't know what I'm doing yet. ^^; But hopefully, it'll be organized soon!
And without further adieu, here's Mazinger Z - Volume 1: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TL9SEYJ2
Enjoy, and see you next time!
